On Thursday, June 5th, Kyoto-based Nintendo began shipping the latest edition of its flagship console. The previous version sold over 150 million units worldwide. The event sparked scenes of jubilation across the archipelago.
Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Pokémon , and Zelda. For fans of these globally popular game series from Japanese company Nintendo, the long-awaited day has arrived. On Thursday, June 5, the Kyoto-based brand released the new version of its Switch console, dubbed "Nintendo Switch 2," reports public broadcaster NHK .
Even in the company's history, which dates back to 1889, the moment will be a landmark. The previous edition of the console, the Nintendo Switch, became Nintendo's flagship product, selling over 150 million units worldwide since its launch in 2017, according to official company information.
However, in order to play their favorite games on the Nintendo Switch 2 starting this Thursday, fans had to jump through many hoops, much like the characters in Nintendo games. In fact, to prevent their new console from being resold online, the Japanese company has implemented a complex reservation system. Just to get one, you'll need to subscribe to the services of certain electronics retailers like Amazon and then go through several raffles.
